Paper bow tutorial!!

Alright, so I finally took the time to take photos of how I created the paper bow I posted at the start of the month.  It is really quite easy.  First off, you will need paper strips and adhesive, I used double sided tape.

To start, tape your strips into a circle (you can play around with the size):

Then place adhesive on a spot on the inside of the circle and squish the top down to the adhesive to form almost a little bow:

Place adhesive on the center of the bow you created and start to stack them together (I chose to stick them with the seams down so they are hidden) to look like this:

Once you have stacked them to a style of your liking then create a little topper.  I play around with this step to see what I can come up with.

And there you have it, your paper bow is complete!!

Thanks for checking out my first ever tutorial!!!

My new use of scraps

I know many people make flowers and bows but here is my take on making a bow.  I made it to go on my friend's birthday gift.  It was so easy and I plan to make more as an effort to use up my scraps.  I hate throwing away my scraps and this is a good way to use up all those little strips.  Someone suggested I do a tutorial so I will try and get that up in the next couple days/weeks.  Thanks for checking it out!

Paper Mixing Bowl - Recipe 1

It is official, the first Paper Mixing Bowl recipe has been released!

This is the recipe we were given (above), and this is what I came up with:

I chose a camping layout and so I didn't want to go so whimsical with the design.  This is also a good spin to show you how to make the layout more masculine.  I didn't have paint so I used ink on the white cardstock which also counted as my distressing.  The theme was about something you wished for that happened.  I chose camping becuase it was something I have always loved doing and hadn't yet found someone who enjoyed it too.  Tyler and Remy are my camping buddies.  The journalling explains it, just a little hard to read.  Hope you like it and have fun trying out your own.
